Hi my name is Stewart Francis [Funky Tat] – welcome to my site.

I have arranged a hand picked collection of my work into separate galleries for you to look through. The collection consists predominately of my skin art but there are a few other bits and pieces for you to see. Feel free to browse through my galleries any time you desire.

Below I have written a little blurb about myself and my journey so far.

I was born in Brighton, 1975.

I was first introduced to the world of tattooing in 1990, when I got my first tattoo, by Gary White. After that I was hooked! From ‘92 to ‘98 I attended a number of art colleges and gained at the end, an HND in crafts. Throughout my time at college I was always fascinated by other people’s tattoos and I was constantly buying tattoo magazines.

It wasn’t until March 2001 that I purchased my first set of tattoo equipment. From that moment on I taught myself and soon became a tattooist.

I had a break that year around Christmas time and started collecting my own personal tattoo’s from various tattooists that I looked up to and admired. My first large piece was done by Al Pachanka, who became a big influence in my work.

I picked up the machine again in Oct ‘02, was tattooing in a shop by May ‘03. In April ‘04 I moved on to Angelic Hell in Brighton, were I now work with Mantas & llona.
